REGISTRATION FORM

Registration forms can only be completed digitally on our website: www.quiltfestival.nl under "contest”.

The deadline for sending the registration form is April 15, 2023, so that the organization has an idea of the number of registrations. Registration form after that date will not be processed. The deadline for sending in the photos and text (motivation, story behind quilt and theme) is May 1, 2023.

Participation costs are € 20,=.

SELECTION OF QUILTS

All techniques are accepted as long as they conform to the basic structural features of a quilt (3 layers).

The dimensions for the quilt are free however at least one side of the quilt must have a minimum size of 100 cm.

The quilt must be able to be rolled up.

No 3D work, no fragile materials, no framed work.

Group work is allowed, it is registered in the name of one of the participants.

The quilt must be made in the period 2020-2023. The work may not have been in an exhibition elsewhere, or published in a catalog, book or magazine prior to the competition.

We will receive per quilt no later than 1 May 2023 two digital images, one image of the entire quilt and one image of a specific detail of the quilt.

 

Images must be of good quality, with a high resolution, 300 dpi minimum, and JPEG format - well lit and on a black or white background, in original colours - no change to the photo.

A Hanging Sleeve of 10cm (4inches) must be attached to the back of the quilt, keeping 2 cm free on both sides for the eye, unless it features an integral hanging device. Failure to provide this may mean that the quilt cannot be displayed The suspension bar must be supplied with a 1.5 cm eye diameter. Work sent by post may be delivered without a bar.

 

ROYALTY

The quilt artist retains the copyright to the quilt.

Entry into the competition automatically grants copyright permission to use the quilt image for publication and in advertising and / or publicity for the exhibition, including use on appropriate web pages and social networks.

JUDGING

The choice will be made by an expert jury appointed by the Stichting Quiltfestival Noord Groningen.

The decisions of the jury are final. The jury reserves the right to refuse work that does not correspond to the previously submitted photo.

POSTAGE AND INSURANCE 

The quilt is assured from arrival at the organization to the return shipment. (insurance during transport is not included). 

 

The insurance during transport, both outward and return is the responsibility of the participant. 

The organization is not responsible for any damage to the works caused by the vulnerability of the material used or by defective packaging. 

The packaging of submitted work must be reusable. 

RETURN SHIPMENT 

The venue will close on Sunday at 5 p.m. Your quilt can be picked up from the competition location on Sunday between 5:30 PM and 6 PM. 

Optionally your quilt will be sent back to you by post in the week after the end of the Quilt festival. 

 

Quilts that are not picked up will be returned after the costs have been transferred. 

Costs for return shipment by post are € 20, at the expense of the participant.
